Our Facility | Little River CDC

Our Facility at LRCDC

Our classrooms at LRCDC are equipped with state of the art Apple IPADS that track attendance, e-mail notifications to parents of child’s daily activities and needs as well as documenting children’s growth and development through observations and assessments.  The rooms contain first aid kits and emergency information for each child.  Closed circuit video cameras are located in our entrance lobby as well as all classrooms, playground, and parking lot areas.  Our center is managed through and extensive computer system to provide security for families when entering and leaving the premises.  Our center has a monitored alarm system that is state of the art, with fire pulls located in all classrooms and throughout all common areas, allowing us to be directly connected with the local emergency response agencies.

Each classroom is divided into learning areas/centers that contain developmentally appropriate materials placed on child size shelving for children to use.  Children are invited to play in any area they choose as they will be learning through play.  Teachers are very interactive with the children while guiding them to explore science, social studies, math, role play, language, literacy gross, and fine motor skills.  Our areas/centers include: Blocks, Art, Toys and games, Library, Dramatic Play/Housekeeping, Manipulative’s (ex. Puzzles & lacing cards), Science/discovery, Computers, Handwriting, Cooking, and a Montessori area are also provided in our Prek-3’s, 4’s, and 5 year old classrooms.

Facility Philosophy

First and foremost we are not a baby sitting service. We are a child development center!
